Belgian Trappist style Quad

Saturnalia is our interpretation of a Belgian Trappist style Quad. Saturnalia pours a light brown in color with a fluffy off white head. Big notes of caramel and dark candy sugar intermingle with Belgian yeast esters. The sweetness is balanced by a beautiful spicy & floral hop character from the Styrian Golding. A soft & dry finish belies the 10.2% abv.  It is brewed using authentic Belgian Pilsener, Pale Ale Special B and Cara malts. It is hopped with Loral and Styrian Golding in the boil to balance out the massive body. Finally the beer undergoes a warm fermentation using a classic Belgian Trappist yeast strain.
